Closures on the Red Hill Valley Parkway tomorrow night
HAMILTON, ON - The City of Hamilton will be completing work on the Red Hill Valley Parkway (RHVP) overnight tomorrow, which will result in short closures in one direction at a time.
The northbound lanes of the RHVP will be closed between the Upper Red Hill Valley Parkway/Mud St. and Queenston Rd. beginning at 9 p.m. tomorrow, August 29. Work in the northbound lanes is expected to take approximately two hours. Once work in the northbound lanes is complete, crews will shift operations into the southbound lanes
The southbound lanes will be closed between Barton St. and the Upper Red Hill Valley Parkway/Mud St. This work is expected to begin at approximately 11 p.m. and is expected to take approximately three hours.
Motorists traveling in the area should follow the posted Emergency Detour Routes.
These closures will allow crews to complete repairs to the overhead sign structures on the RHVP. This work was noted in the 2017 Sign Support Inspection Summary Report that the City shared on August 12, 2019. Additional sign structure repairs on the Claremont Access and Nikola Tesla Blvd. are ongoing and will be completed by the end of summer.
The City thanks motorists for their patience and cooperation as we complete these important repairs.
