Notice of Addendum and Public Information Centre York & Valley Road (HD016) Booster Pumping Station EA
Project Background
In 2006, the City of Hamilton completed the Water and Wastewater Master Plan Class Environmental Assessment (EA) for the lake based systems. This study recommended a Schedule 'B' project be implemented for the York & Valley Road (HD016) Booster Pumping Station which included station upgrades to increase the pumping capacity to meet growth demands. This Booster Water Pumping Station is located adjacent to the Borer’s Falls “Off Leash” Park in Ward 13 and it services the community of Waterdown in Ward 15.
Due to a lapse of time since filling the 2006 Water and Wastewater Master Plan Project File Report for public review, a Class EA Addendum will be completed to review the planning process to ensure that the project and mitigating measures are still valid given the current planning context.
The York & Valley Road (HD016) Booster Pumping Station MCEA Addendum study will occur separately from The Waterdown Trunk Watermain Twinning Class MCEA which will focus on the downstream distribution watermain serving Ward 15.
The Addendum Process
The Addendum study will follow the planning and design process as defined in the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class Environmental Assessment document (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011 & 2015).
Public Information Centre
A virtual Public Information Centre (PIC) will be posted as part of the Addendum study. The PIC will present a summary of changes to the 2006 Water & Wastewater Master Plan recommendations and preferred solution as it relates to the HD016 Booster Water Pumping Station and current environmental setting. You will be able to view presentation materials and give us your input via a downloadable comment sheet. The PIC is scheduled for:
Date: Presentation will be available for viewing at any time starting on April 28, 2022. The last day to submit comments is on May 12, 2022.
