Tourism Hamilton launches hands-on Arts Workshop Campaign
HAMILTON, ON – In partnership with Hamilton-based artists, attractions, and arts-related businesses, Tourism Hamilton invites tourists to immerse themselves in the city’s thriving arts scene by engaging in experiential workshops on weekends from September 15 through October 6.
Unique hands-on workshops enable participants to get up close and personal with the arts community, become part of the Hamilton story, and take away their handmade treasures and fond memories of a spectacular weekend visit.
Workshop experiences range from creating with clay, glass and paint to screen printing, monoprinting and letterpress. Participants can also choose to engage in street photography, historic cooking and metal casting. Workshops are enhanced with tours, behind the scenes encounters, guided nature walks, and more!
Partners include the Art Gallery of Hamilton, The Creative Insight Pottery Studio, Centre3 For Print & Media Arts, Royal Botanical Gardens and Dundurn National Historic Site. Featured artists are Karla Rivera, Amanda Kopas, Linda Boyle, Courtney Downman, Matt McInnes, Monique Campbell, Donna Hiebert, Sara Froese, Samantha Goeree, Maureen Isnor, and Dundurn Castle’s Cook Demonstrators.
Workshop participants are encouraged to savour Hamilton’s bustling restaurant scene and to spend a night or two to explore all the city has to offer and discover our true character.
