Welcome back Mac! Additional service to the 51 University added

HAMILTON, ON – We’re listening. The McMaster community and students are important to us and we are excited to be supporting your Welcome Week with enhanced service. In advance of the Fall Board schedule taking effect Sunday September 2, 2018, HSR has added extra service to the 51 University a week early. 

Operating on a Saturday schedule, the 51 University Special will now see service from approximately 11:20 am through 2:30 am starting Monday, August 27 through Saturday, September 1 inclusive. Buses will operate approximately every 20 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes after 8 pm.

As a reminder to students with the start of the 2018/2019 school term, McMaster University has made changes to how returning students register their HSR U-Pass (bus pass / PRESTO card).

• New students will still pick up their card on campus, with their pass loaded by September 1, 2018, with a grace period of August 23 through August 31 2018.
• Returning students are now required to register and load their pass by September 1 2018, as there is no grace period. McMaster students can register their pass here: https://www.msumcmaster.ca/info/hamilton-street-railway-hsr-bus-pass
