The City of Hamilton is completing a municipal class environmental assessment to consider infrastructure options to ensure that Carlisle will have long-term sustainable servicing to meet the current and future needs of the community.
Carlisle has historically experienced high water demands during the summer, which often exceeded provincial design standards for drinking water system.
Since 2002, the City has explored several solutions to meet Carlisle’s water demands, including water conservation programs in 2004 and between 2014 and 2019. The preferred solution will include additional water capacity to meet provincial guidelines for fire flow/storage, increasing demand to provide sustainable and reliable water supply to all existing and future population in the settlement area.
