Black History Month Lecture
Hamilton, ON – In commemoration of Black History Month, Griffin House National Historic Site proudly presents a captivating free lecture on Wednesday, February 14 from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Ancaster Old Town Hall, 310 Wilson St. E. Guest speaker Kojo ‘Easy’ Damptey will fascinate attendees with stories of existence, resilience and resistance.
Quick facts
- Kojo “Easy” Damptey is an award-winning singer/songwriter born in Ghana and residing in Hamilton.
- He fuses together various music genres - hip-hop, highlife, soul and funk – to create what he calls Afro-Soul.
- His most recent album, Giants: Stories of Existence, Resilience, & Resistance is intended to communicate the experiences of people of colour.
- Kojo is an active member of the Hamilton Music Advisory Team and a key advocate for diversity in the local music scene.
