George Hamilton Day 2019 Celebrations
HAMILTON, ON – The public is invited to celebrate George Hamilton Day and Famous Hamiltonian 2019, Janet Lee, by engaging in free family-friendly events on July 30 and August 3 and 4 at the Erland Lee Museum, 552 Ridge Road, Stoney Creek, and on August 5 with a presentation at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, 123 King St. W. Hamilton, followed by a walking tour.
The City is partnering with the Erland Lee Museum, the Federated Women’s Institute of Ontario, the Bruce Trail Conservancy, Footsteps in Time and the Art Gallery of Hamilton to present community events in celebration of Janet, George and the city he founded.
“The designation will always be unique to the city. It will always be known as George Hamilton Day.” Patricia Saunders, 2019 recipient of the City of Hamilton Rev. T. Melville Bailey Award for Lifetime Achievement in Heritage, after an astonishing 70 years of volunteering.
