Notice of Study Commencement and PIC 1 for Ainslie Wood Neighbourhood Creek Separation EA Study
The City of Hamilton has initiated a Schedule 'B' Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) study to determine the preferred solution for the Ainslie Wood Neighbourhood Creek Separation from the Municipal Combined Sewer System.
This study includes public, review agency, and Indigenous consultation, evaluation of alternatives, assessment of the impacts of the proposed works, and identification of measures to mitigate any adverse impacts. Upon completion of the study, a Project File Report documenting the planning and decision making process will be prepared and made available for public review.
The Process
The study will follow the planning and design process as defined in the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class Environmental Assessment document (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011 & 2015).
How to Participate
Two (2) PIC sessions will be held as part of this study.
Public Information Centre (PIC) No. 1 - PIC No. 1 will be held virtually to provide background information to identify the problems and opportunities that will be addressed through the study. Presentation will be available for viewing at any time starting on February 24, 2023. Please submit comments by March 10, 2023.

Comments received through the course of the study will be considered in selecting the preferred alternative solution. Information will be collected in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. With the exception of personal information, all comments will be become part of the public record.
